Buried within a documentary called "The Future of Mass Effect" in the new Platinum Hits version of the game, BioWare conveniently reveal details on the next batch of long overdue, anxiously awaited DLC for the RPG. Hmm, maybe it will arrive before the sequel? Rumored to be in the works for months now, project director Casey Hudson and principal lead designer Preston Watamaniuk state in the video: "Things we’re working on right now, for the Mass Effect universe next … we had something in Mass Effect 1 that again, we weren’t able to pull off just because we didn’t have the time and we didn’t think we’d be able to do it well enough, which was a fight club or an arena. So we’re actually working on that for our next downloadable content piece and we’re hoping it’ll be really special ... So we wanted to be able to give people a much more combat-oriented, lighter-story experience. You’re going to go to a kind of casino gaming fight club space station.” The only reason a "rumor tag" is applied here is because, naturally, no official announcement has been made. While I'm more than glad that I will be getting back into the Normandy - soon-ish - to tackle another quest, I do sort of wonder why this wasn't simply held for the sequel (even though BioWare claim they want this content to tie into it, and even affect it) due early next year, where it probably could have been done better. Bah, regardless, it's exciting, isn't it? From the video, it's also re-confirmed that your charcter from Mass Effect will be able to be imported into Mass Effect 2 to continue the story - which was revealed around the time the first game launched. No release date is known, nor are any prices. But feel free to speculate. GDC announcement, maybe?
