Rockstar Games, nor Microsoft, have commented on the exact statistics for Grand Theft Auto: The Lost & Damned since its February 17th release, and yet we the public are still anxiously awaiting what they have to say about how well the downloadable expansion sold. But why should they talk about it? I mean, it only costed Microsoft $25 million, right? Only half of the $50 million exclusive content deal they signed. Chicken scratch; not something they have to worry about providing numbers for. And certainly not the sort of thing that Rockstar want to have to worry about bragging about even more (you know, the whole "We have changed the face of DLC" thing). Apparently, though, it seemingly sold well, but not as well as both parties may have hoped it would.

According to an unnamed source speaking with Variety, The Lost & Damned - which was $19.99 a pop and exclusive to the 360 - has sold "about" 1 million copies. If not more. This is something that's been batted around by various analysts for the past month, just for the record. If true (it's yet to be confirmed for some reason), that means the digital add-on raked in over $20 million in revenue over Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Wow. That's a lot of cash, but it remains to been if that's good or bad for the number of sold copies of the content, considering the number of copies of GTA IV on the 360 that are out there, versus the number of people that are connected to LIVE. Microsoft did recently confirm that TL&D set a record for first-day sales of DLC, but we've not anything else on the matter since.
