As far back as last Spring, we'd been hearing rumors that Ubisoft would be announcing the third Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter title - an announcement eventually did come about mid-2008 that ended up being the publisher's new GRAW-era fighter jet IP, Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. - due this year. And Rainbow Six... you can't forget Team Rainbow. They've defended Sin City - TWICE - as of late, surely they're up for another mission, yeah?
A "secret mouthpiece" source speaking with CVG claims that Ubisoft will announce both titles "later this year," and that "there's every chance they
could even release this side of Christmas." Oh, really? Let's take a quick look at Ubisoft's current slate of AAA, big-budget titles for 2009: H.A.W.X., Splinter Cell: Conviction (maybe, if hell freezes over)...and that's about it, so far. I don't think anyone would doubt a new Ghost Recon (since it's been over a year and a half since G.R.A.W. 2) or Rainbow Six adventure within the next 12 months. The question is, says CVG, will these be sequels to what's out there, or new installments altogether?
