Just a few weeks ago, the official website for the 2009 game Developer's Conference detailed a 60-minute panel in which employees from BioWare would be talking up Mass Effect 2's level design. In essence, how the studio had moved forward from the original game in 2007. EA even recently confirmed that the game was in development - something we all knew to the case for months. But as for announcing it or spilling the beans? Ehh....don't count on it at GDC. Even though they will be talking about it and/or possibly showing off early images. Speaking to VG247, EA said today: "Bioware has always stated that Mass Effect would be a trilogy. This GDC event is an academic panel, but there won’t be any concrete information provided on the Mass Effect franchise other than what has been outlined on the GDC website." Bummer. That's ok, EA. At least the game is coming, and you've officially acknowledged that. We'll wait patiently until E3 and take that two-disc re-release as an adequate substitute. |
