Following the tragedy that struck developer Free Radical, employees began leaking the company's in-development projects almost as quickly as they were being shoved out the door. One such project was the just recently confirmed Star Wars Battlefront III - now rumored to have been handed off to Rebellion, the folks behind the PSP games. If the following footage is any indication, let's hope to god that what Free Radical had completed was shipped off - in its entirety - to the new studio for them to continue working on an eventualy finish, because it is f***-awesome. Really, it is.

Leaked (allegedly, but come on, it's legit) from an "internal show and tell alpha meeting" back in November of 2008, the following (and rather lengthy) gameplay segment depicts what the studio was striving for in terms of scale, detail (look at that lighting and draw distance!) and subtle tweaks from the origial formula. In short: It's Battlefront in the current generation, all decked out, and it's amazing. Just knowing that this game exists makes me all kinds of excited. Hopefully it hasn't been canned in its current form. And what's that, is that Ben Kenobi?!
